Dual Payee; When to Use
- For OSIP, REF, and TANF, use a dual-payee check for protective payments if the benefit group has shown they are not able to properly manage benefits meant to meet their needs. Issue the dual-payee check in both the name of the client and the name of the service provider.
- Issue EA checks for shelter, moving costs, property taxes, and home repairs as dual-payee revolving fund checks. The supervisor or branch manager must authorize an exception to this policy in advance.
- To make sure a JOBS or OFSET payment is used to meet a specific need, the branch office may write a dual-payee revolving fund check in the name of both the client and the vendor.
